About the Op Shop and Welfare Centre

The shop is well-known in the wider community for its friendly welcoming atmosphere, excellent customer service, as well as presentation of stock, and very affordable clothing, furniture, bric-a-brac and other home wares.

Items for re-sale are donated not only from parishioners, but from members of Alstonville and adjoining communities.

It is an intrinsic ministry of the Parish providing material support for the underprivileged, and a place where people’s lives are touched by God through the faith of the volunteers.

The shop is often used by many as a ‘drop in centre’ where people just come to chat.

The shop coordinates with other agencies such as St Vincent De Paul, Social Justice Group, Mental Health Support Group, Namatjira Haven, Hope Haven in providing assistance as required in the community.

All Op Shop staff are volunteers.

They come from varied backgrounds, and all enjoy the love, support and friendship offered.
